The Will of Good Pleasure
These sculptures are process driven. Using Python and Processing coding languages, I’ve developed a program that designs random polyhedrons which break down into amorphous “blobs.” I then take the computer renderings and try to recreate the objects as faithfully as possible using traditional craft methods (in this case carpentry, sewing,& upholstry) I’m interested in pushing boundaries between craft, ritual, technology, and authorship. I view this work as a collaborative process between myself and an autonomous (if limited) intelligence fed by a pastiche of Maimi club fashion and retro-futurism.
