New Modules
These sculptures represent a body of work I made while alone on a two month residency in upstate New York. During that period, I became interested in documenting the many abandoned commercial and residential spaces left in the wake of the city’s economic downturn. Utilizing repurposed and discarded materials from now defunct home restoration businesses and construction supply companies, I reinterpreted isolated moments from domestic spaces given up to time. Intersections isolated from bathrooms, odd wall coverings, broken fixtures, all of these elements both reference and resist the allure of home and space-making.
